Well, we're now very into 2013...

Dad's been out of surgery for a while now, and his doctor's pleased with how he's doing. Yay! I admit, that was a scary patch. Job hunt's still rocky, but I'm working on it.

Meantime, here are a couple of new items.

My score at Bejeweled from January 14th. It's not exactly a Year 2000 item, but the coincidence was just too good to ignore. :)

Tick-tock goes the clock, speeding ever closer to Valentine's Day. Are you stuck for ideas about what to get for your significant other? This folding mirror, designed and made by Irving Rice, bears  the words “Millennium” and “2000” alongside the profile of the Statue of Liberty. Most interesting of all, the thirteen stars and Libby’s tiara have inset Swarovski crystals. Inside is a normal mirror and a 10x magnified mirror, and there was another one, with a silver finish. My grandmother bought this one around 1999 or so, but I’m not too sure where she got it from. It doesn’t seem to come from the Danbury or Franklin Mints, so it must have been available for general sale--she probably got it from Signals catalog or somewhere similar.
